ISO 22000:2018 PUBLISHED
ISO has released the new version of the ISO 22000 for food safety management systems.
The new ISO 22000 now adopts the High-Level Structure allowing organisations to easily integrate their food safety management system with other management systems like Quality (ISO 9001), Safety (ISO 45001) and Environmental (ISO 14001).
ISO 22000:2018 now has a new approach to risk management, strong links to the Codex Alimentarius, and offers greater control of food safety hazards combining key elements: communication, Prerequisite Programs (PRPs) and the principles of HACCP.
There will be a three year transition period but most companies will want to begin learning about the new revisions and start their transition sooner than later.
